Kevin Abstract - Blanket (November 3, 2023) Album • Page 4

Discussion in 'Music Forum' started by iCarly Rae Jepsen, Oct 11, 2023.

  1. Sometimes I remember Ameer's attempted comeback where he was rapping "I'm not just a boy in a band...I am more than a man" and it gives me a good chuckle

  2. Ngl, between the Ameer stuff and Kevin selling a hoodie based on his DUI arrest, I'm pretty over this guy

Plus his post BH material being pure ass, hard to root for him

I will not be listening lol. Danny Brown on a 50 second song, goofy work

I'm just hoping for a few good tracks at this point, maybe the second Dominic one is good too

Personally I think the Ameer verses here are absolutely good enough to warrant blowing up the band

  13. Looking back on BH is so weird, I don't know if I've ever been so into something while it was happening and soured on it so much after the fact. I don't even know why. Kevin is annoying, but I still like some of those records, and the guys are talented. Just kinda cringe when I think back on it.

I feel like Brockhampton was greater than the sum of its parts. Odd Future was pretty mediocre when they were actually together, but Frank, Tyler and Earl all thrived outside of the band. Brockhampton is the opposite case- love them together but they’re all kind of mid apart (although I like the early Kevin albums)

Matt is the only one working for me as a solo artist at all yeah, though I continue to hope for a bearface album

I was playing some BH for my partner recently and she summed it up pretty well: "rap music for theater kids."

I really loved the JOBA album & I think it’s super underrated

I really didn't like the fake Elton kinda thing he was going for

  19. I agree with this, and I was really inclined not to at first but I'm kind of shocked at how well he pulled the 70s songwriter thing off
