New album out now and it's amazing. Really excited for this dude and the album is phenomenal. He does wear his influences on his sleeve a lot (Frank Ocean, Kid Cudi, Gambino) but makes it really unique and his own.

I was a big fan of MTV1987 when it came out, and never really went back to. Can't wait to give this a full listen in the morning. The first few tracks are great.

 

It's a lot different than that album cause clearly he's gone through a lot/almost a complete artistic transformation since then. (I still love that album). This album is going to further make him blow up though. The lyrics are so personal.

 

Okay I wasn't able to sleep, so instead I've been listening to this. There is a clear distinction between this and his previous work. This help set a perfect mellow mood despite how deeply personal and how relateable it is. Since I haven't followed his progress, I wasn't even aware of his sexuality. 2016 has

Yeah I really think his story is an important one. How it came to be is crazy too. Going to listen again tomorrow for sure, but I'm glad more people are discovering it and spreading the word

 

The Fader article got me interested, but the music itself really grabbed me. Pretty damn diverse yet consistent, and lyrically strong after only one listen.

Had several people tell me to listen to him, made the mistake of starting with MTV1987 which I thought was only decent and didn't get around to this for a while. Finally checked it out just now and I'm speechless. This is phenomenal, a total emotional roller coaster in the best way possible. This kid has such a future ahead of him.

 

This album has been getting a ton of plays from me in the last week, "Runner" is such a jam and this whole thing is so quality.
