that album didn’t do it for me, I couldn’t fuck with it. Compared to Die for my bitch I was so underwhelmed. But honestly it’s new Kendrick so I’ll take whoever on it with him besides like R Kelly and etc.
i love die for my bitch so I get it but man at first I was meh on the melodic blue but then it just hit and I couldn’t stop listening to it and every song him and Kendrick had was fun.
I could see it dropping directly after the SB instead of before I doubt he was going to do a new song during that anyway, a hit like Alright or Humble makes way more sense
Snoop and MJB both dropped. It's the biggest marketing opportunity you will ever get as an artist, so as long as the song is ready to go I would think they'd drop it.
Dre’s songs from GTA Online were also added to streaming this month and one of them features Eminem so every artist appearing has something fresh apart from Kendrick. Seems wild to me not having something new to promote when you see 400%+ sales increases off the back of a Super Bowl HT slot - even if it’s just a loosie or a new ep of demos. I remember seeing some rumblings about Kendrick being angry at TDE a while ago, then the oklama blogpost came out and everyone seemed to think it was cool. This new interview wiith DJ Toomp alludes to there still being issues. I’m not expecting much more than Humble at the SuperBowl now. I’d love to be wrong of course, but if that is the case lets hope Kendrick doesn’t go dark again for too long.
oh i'm sorry for being proud of the dude for performing on the biggest stage there is, @CobraKidJon you be proud too ok?!?!!?!?!!?1?
I could not believe he actually did Maad City, I was fully expecting just Humble or Alright (which also sounded great). Fucking insane
Loved the whole performance but Kendrick looked so cool. Sadly we’re still in the dark regarding new music but hopefully won’t be too long. If you’re into conspiracy theories a lot of people are thinking the Dre Day stuff in Kendrick’s part of the performance was a tease to something happening on Dre’s birthday which just so happens to be this friday (18th Feb). Think it’s just showing respect to Dre personally but who knows! Really looking forward to this. The fact it isn’t complete radio silence is surely a good sign.
The last time I bought into a Kendrick conspiracy theory it didn't turn out so well...still waiting for NATION. to drop
https://milanosummerfestival.it/portfolio/kendrick-lamar-23-giugno-2022/ According to the festival's website (translated from Italian): "KENDRICK LAMAR returns to Italy with a super anticipated show which, produced and distributed by Vivo Concerti, will see him perform - after 8 years from his first performance in Italy, in 2014 - at the Milan Summer Festival on Thursday 23 June 2022, where he will play the pieces of the new album, long awaited by fans." Lol doesn’t play it on the biggest stage but rather a festival sounds suspect
Kendrick Lamar Will Talk About Making 'To Pimp A Butterfly' On A New Spotify Podcast That Launches Tomorrow
Really thought we might get something around the super bowl, but I guess that's just a lesson in keeping expectations in check. I'm not into podcasts much but I might need to check that out, I've always wondered how the songs on TPAB actually came to be.
