The Hillbillies show I saw at Camp Flog Gnaw was so funny because it would be Kendrick playing one of my favorite hip hop songs ever, then some mid Baby Keem song, then they’d do one together over and over again
This is where I'm at. I almost never want to listen to it and I can almost never get through a full listen, but I do think it's "good."
damn is kendric's poppiest album. Very accessible and enjoyable. I go back to it often because it's much easier listen than some of his other albums.
The ranking of his last four changes entirely based on the mood im in. Right now I’d say my favorite is probably GKMC though
I’ve always had damn as the bottom of the list for me besides the singles. Mr Morale’s at first didn’t really hit for me due to the length but once I started to re-listen to it a bunch. I started to not mind the length because I was so into the music.
Im overdue for another listen of this considering Kendrick is back in the discourse. Also where's that movie he was producing with the south park guys
I guess it's nice that kendrick has another hit I just feel like all three artists involved are capable of significantly better
Misleading anyway since they’re just producing it but yeah they’re gonna be the next EGOT if you ask me and I don’t even like South Park
Yeah, mileage may vary with the Kodak thing and whether you think what Kendrick was trying to do here is even possible from an ethical standpoint, but I do think he put more thought into how to present those ideas here than almost any other artist I could think of. For whatever that's worth.
Kodak is such a small part of the album. You can arguably skip all his guest spots and lose very little
“I make music that electrify them, you make music that pacifies them, I can double down on that line but ima spare you this time”
