If anything, I feel like TPAB probably hits hardest on first impression, but becomes more evidently messy and inconsistent as you listen to it.
yeah, it's the first one I heard but I just dont return to it often. It's also a solid 7.5 - 8 so it's not like he has any real duds imo
I had a really really strong first reaction to the album and I do really love it when I do listen to it but it's also the album I've had the urge to return to the least. I still think it has some of his best songs ever and his discography is basically spotless so far
I haven't really listened to this much since it dropped. Should change that. GKMC is probably in my top 10 records of all time
To Pimp a Butterfly Good Kid, mAAd city DAMN Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers Section.80 My least favorite of his is still good. The top 2 are all time great masterpieces, so yea pretty great run
GKMC TPAB DAMN Mr. Morale Section.80 predictable ranking with no real hot takes but that's where I'm at
I thought about ranking it but I haven't spent nearly as much time with it as the others so it wouldn't feel as fair.
Relistened to this today and it’s a phenomenal album. The man laid his guts on the table, blemishes and all
Yeah, still don't understand people talking about this being a fall-off in any way, shape, or form. It's unwieldy in the way nearly all double-albums are, but justifies its length more than most.
I do not care for Kodak Black being on it regardless of the "point" of it or not but still a good album
I enjoy DAMN. as a whole more than this, mostly due to personal attachment to it, but I can admit the songwriting here is more interesting and complex.
I loved DAMN. when it came out but every time I try and listen to it anymore I get bored and turn it off.
