I respect the music and maybe the idea of WCT could have been good but I would never willingly listen to it again lol

Auntie Diaries and Mother I Savior were definitely the initial highlights for me.

 

Paying closer attention for listen number two and liking it even more.

 

I think musically it’s listenable and I would say if you feel like it’s just a bunch of swearing, take a closer listen/look at the lyrics, especially from the perspective of Taylour’s part, but yeah not exactly a “I’m gonna bump this in public” kind of song lol, but to be fair there’s a lot of songs like that on here, introspective and challenging

 

"Uncomfortable" is the word that best describes this album for me. It's challenging which I guess was to be expected.

 

"Silent Hill" and "Mr. Morale" beats go crazy. Mostly enjoying this so far, I think "We Cry Together" is good and "Auntie Diaries" is wild. Not happy about the Kodak shit, but I'm interested in spending more time with this and really digging into the lyrics.

 

Okay this is going over better on second listen now that I’m prepared for the yikes uncomfortable moments. Feels weird to say about a Kendrick album but I’m def enjoying the tracks where he’s being goofy and ignorant more than the “Kendrick tackles uncomfortable personal issue unsparingly!!!” tracks. Keep humming “Bitch I’m attractive” lol

Think this will be a grower though, the back half is heavy

 

the fact blxst is finally getting the love he deserves is something I was excited about.

That Silent Hill beat and hook go so crazy, don’t see why he couldn’t have had someone like Lil baby or countless other artists who aren’t Kodak on the feature

Does anyone understand what his argument is with the last lines on Auntie? I’m not really sure what he’s getting at

no love lost(deluxe) was probably one of my favorite albums from that year. His newest release is ok but not as good as that one.
