I mean that's a weird point of comparison, haha. It's not a banger and it's not going to like hype people up, but it's a pretty traditional pop song compared to most of his catalog.
Second half is more experiential and deeper, first half is mostly easier to listen to for me but second half has grown on me heavy ever since listen 2
Kind of relieved to see so many others agreeing that the first half of this is super weak. Very much just going through the motions, pretty bland and forgettable. Second half is much better
Working Disc 2 right now, but I really enjoyed Disc 1 outside of feeling pretty uncomfortable during We Cry Together. I typically gravitate towards his more "unstructured" stuff, so the opener has hit me the hardest so far.
I nearly put this on my speaker at work for the first listen before I decided to listen at home ...this was a good choice lol, We Cry Together in the workplace would have been a bad time
We Cry Together is an amazing track. Not something I’d want to play publicly tho lol yeah this is a great album
I love “We Cry Together”. I was just saying I didn’t want my neighbors walking their dogs and kids to hear it. It’s a better version of “Stan”.
Also, man, there’s no reason for Kodak to be on here. Anything else aside, his verse just kinda sucks
We Cry Together is the track produced by The Alchemist, so I can't imagine it being bad musically at least.
I think overall this album is an 8 (maybe a 9 on further listens) which means for any other artist it would be a 10
Prod is fire it’s just… lyrically unappealing because it’s 2 people mostly swearing at each other. 50% of the track is the n-word and the b-word.
