Overly Dedicated was actually the first thing I heard from him when I was introduced to Kendrick in college right before Good Kid was coming out. I think it is solid enough as an earlier effort, but of course was just a precursor for what was to come

 

is this album for sure for sure coming friday? i have a long flight friday and i'd love to listen to nothing but this multiple times.

it's more like reverse Midas these days in that everything he touches turns to shit

 

Yeah it's really worth diving into. I haven't put it on in years (the high school nostalgia that must bring now!) but on the top off my head I remember loving P&P, Ignorance Is Bliss, She Needs Me and Heaven & Hell the most.

In the pre-good kid, maad city days, there were also some compilations of unreleased music floating around that were full of gems like Rare Breed and Hate, among others. All of them must still be available on YouTube.

edit: Here's one of those compilations. I forgot about Cloud 10, the instrumental is transcendent.

 

Do we think they will wait to globally release this at midnight or some other PST time ? Probably not New Zealand time right….

Yeah, I wouldn't expect this to be out NZ time like most albums, but rather 9 PST like the big name artists usually do
