Not according to Kendrick's Wikipedia. Like I said, it is what it is, not trying to rain on anyone's parade because I'm excited too but people are flawed and I def remember feeling strange about that.

 

I wish they would make The Heart Part IV available on streaming sites again.

 

Kendrick Label Head Confirms He Threatened to Pull Music From Spotify

It was Top Dawg’s CEO that threatened it, it just got attributed to Kendrick. But Kendrick later told people to listen to xxxtentacion’s new album, so yeah, that sucks.

 

Thinking back to it, his previous 3 albums (good kid, TPAB and DAMN) all felt like a huge event when they dropped. There's not many albums where I can remember exactly where I was, what I was doing in the exact moment when I first heard them - but all 3 of those stick out.

When Good Kid dropped one of my roommates in college started playing it in the dorm and basically announced to the rest of us that the new Kendrick album is unbelievable and we all need to stop what we are doing and hear it right this second.

TPAB dropped on like a tuesday or monday? It came out on streaming a few days earlier than the planned friday release that week for some reason, and I remember commuting from my first job playing it over and over again completely stunned at what I was hearing.

DAMN i remember hearing it, being blown away once again, and falling down the reddit conspiracy rabbit hole for a few days wondering if the rumors were true about it being a surprise double album (DAMN + NATION on easter sunday)

I'll be at a bachelor party with the same college friends I discovered Kendrick with when the new album drops, and its rather fitting that we get to experience it together
