If it was any other artist, DAMN would be the best thing they ever put out in their entire career. But because it’s Kendrick, it’s merely incredible and one of the best of its release year instead of a culture defining masterpiece like good kid or TPAB. Black Panther is definitely underrated overall, I wouldn't include it as a solo album specifically but it's a really great collection of tracks
Here’s the thing none of what I ranked is a bad project. Just what I prefer I include Cruel Summer as part of Kanye’s work so I’ll include Black Panther with Kendrick.
I have no idea what to make of the title but I have complete and full trust in Kendrick. I just hope the astronomical expectations for this album don't get to him too much The name makes me think this is kinda jazzy again, it evokes like a band leader with his backing band to me. I remember there were rumors of this being rock-influenced a while back too but we don't know if that was true or if these are even the same songs
I'm so happy this guy didn't piss away all his good will in the last five years like certain contemporaries. Ready for whatever's next.
Whatever this turns out to be, there are few if any artists like Kendrick where I have virtually no doubt in this record. Whether I love it, like it or don't, I think he'll make a great piece of art. This won't be bad, it's just my own personal thoughts and vibes in regards to what I'm currently into that will dictate my reaction TL;DR hypeddd. I've been diving into GKMC a lot and it blows me away more every listen
I know at least if I don't fuck with DAMN. all together it's incredible lyrically. Kendrick has been on a lyrical tear for what seems like his entire career.

TPAB GKMC DAMN. section.80 just ran through GKMC for the first time in a few years and it's ma(a)d that a whole bunch of people, myself included, see it as his second best. kind of album artists spend their whole career trying to make and he tops it on his next go. king shit.
