‘Ctrl’ is a classic 2010s album, easily a 9/10 to me. ‘SOS’ is pretty bland songwriting-wise, the vocal production is among the worst I’ve ever heard on a big pop album, and I’ll never understand the acclaim it received.
I would agree with most of that, though SOS has its moments (few and far in-between). I do think she's talented and would check out whatever comes next, but I will literally never, ever buy a ticket to see her live again.
Ctrl is special and meant a lot to me back when it released. I have a lot of memories attached to that album and I still think it hits, though maybe not as hard since I'm not in my 20's anymore lol
I do really like SZA a lot but Gloria is probably my least favorite song on the album if I have to choose one (not because of her lol, just feel like the concept is a bit overdone in hip-hop at this point)
great voice, great sense of how to deliver a hook, 1/3 of her songs are great, boring appearances on this album tho
A) terrified of the prices of this B) just asked my wife if she wants to catch this at soldier field two days before the birth of our kid. Will report back.
Hoping he comes here second half of 2025, the Big Steppers Tour show was RIDICULOUS and I can't wait to see how he tops it.
I saw Kendrick 3 times, at Trees during Section.80 (incredible), at South Side Music Hall a bit before GKMC (incredible), and on the Yeezus tour at AAC (very okay). Has his ability to perform in arenas/stadiums improved a lot since then? If not I'll probably skip the tour, if so I'll probably also skip it because I won't be able to afford it but I'll try harder
damn that is going to be insane. Sucks i live on the other side of the country lol. Hopefully Charlotte will be a good city too.
