Yeah I'm still a Wayne fan but he's never been good at disses anyway and he's definitely worse than he was so just no chance it's good
Wayne has at least two releases that clear any Kendrick or Drake tape, but he is a shell of his former self
The Carter V and Rebirth both had a handful of solid stuff, I think he's still got that spark, but it's few and far between.
I’ve already missed the conversation, but other than new Kendrick my favorite hip hop album this year is definitely Ka’s The Thief Next to Jesus.
Wayne is being such a, frankly, little bitch about this situation. Tweeting out "wtf did I do" like he didn't whine and cry in an interview about not getting the Super Bowl spot. Kendrick mentions his disappointment in hearing he whined and cried about it, makes sense. I pray for Wayne's sake that he's not about to do some dumb shit in the booth considering his output in the last 10-ish years
I love her vocals on Luther, that chorus, and i'm a sucker for nicely layered vocal harmonies like the ones towards the end of the song.
Leave it to Open Mike, who himself is critical of the album, to put my qualms with that P4K review into perfect words.
First few times I listened to tv off I thought the line “walk into New Orleans with the etiquette of LA yelling MUSTAAAARD” was about the SB but his flow throughout the 2nd half of that song makes me wonder if it’s a poke at Wayne. He sounds like peak Wayne the way he connects punchlines and rhymes words together.
Makes me wish Open Mike wrote the review instead of Alphonse, even if he's said he doesn't fuck with GNX as much as most others lol. Seems like he'd be able to put into words a much better way of saying why he doesn't.
Weirdly seeing a lot of people on the cesspool known as Twitter retweeting the Squabble Up music video and hating on it. Not sure if Drake stans or what
A hot take about the album for me is that I don’t LOVE squabble up. It’s fine but honestly the part that takes it down for me is the chorus of just saying squabble up. It doesn’t hit hard, the keyboards sound corny. It feels like a dead zone in an otherwise great banger.
I enjoy his fun stuff like squabble up and not like us, but I much prefer and gravitate to the more musically complex stuff from him
My hot take is I’m not that hot on Luther and it messes with the flow a little for me. I might like it more later in the tracklist tbh
Y'all saw what he did to Drake. Wayne doesn't want those hands. Nobody trying to beef with Kendrick after that, surely?
No MC in general wanna mess with Kendrick on the mic.. the guy is in the prime of his career right now
