@peoplearepoison I agree, before he won the beef with Drake I had some gen z coworkers telling me that Kendrick was basically old news, and then he won them over with Not like us. I'm glad he's the most talked about rapper today, not only a legend but still in the zeitgeist of the current era.
Drake has more in common with Logan Paul than 2pac so it makes sense that he had a hold over gen z for a while
Like….suing someone for getting dragged too hard in a diss track, Drake probably hasn’t thought this through.
It’s so funny that he prodded Kendrick on that dumbass AI 2Pac song saying he was taking too long and had no songs. Now he’s complaining because Kendrick had too big of a hit.
I was there for the NATION fiasco but this feels short and low-stakes enough that I could imagine another one turning up before the Super Bowl.
I hear rumors of another Kendrick album dropping soon, but even if it is false i'm glad he is releasing legit new albums quicker. The time between Damn and Mr morale felt like forever.
Maybe 1% of the time, or less, has an artist actually dropped their surprise "second album" when rumored. Ironically, no one even guessed Taylor had a second album (Anthology) coming at all, so even when it happens still no one is right
When “Like That” dropped back in march did anyone predict we’d have a new Kendrick album, a superbowl gig, a Grammy nominated song about calling one of the biggest artists in the world a pedo and Drake down so bad that he’s taking it to court
