This reference did not fall on deaf ears! Needless to say, super interested to hear the U2 collaboration/sample. But damn, can't believe this didn't actually come out today.
Damn, and I put all this effort into getting my shit together. Still holding out hope that we'll wake up to a new album tomorrow.
I wonder if it was actually meant to release tonight or if this was always the plan? Seems very odd to hype an album release date announcement like this so I'm assuming the former
I would bet that it was intended to be today. Kendrick doesn't seem like the kind of guy to hype a pre-order. Perhaps he went all Kanye and wanted to make some last minute changes / artwork wasnt ready / etc etc.
I'd rather wait a week than him releasing an incomplete piece of work and constantly having to revise it like TLOP.
According to Top Dawg Entertainment twitter, Humble was intended to drop today at the time IV was recorded, so that's what getting our shit together was referring to.
Yea I'd call bullshit. I believe they fully intended to drop the record today and it hit some sort of jump in the road. Perhaps one day we'll get the full story. I mean how hard would it have been just to hold HUMBLE an extra week?
IIRC the Humble artwork leaked and then the track came out that same day so I could maybe buy the story that it wasn't supposed to come out until today. Maybe they just released it early as a result of the art leak?
