Was this vinyl shipped through Really Records? I got an email a few days ago that my order from Really Records was shipped, and I don't know what else it could be. If that's it though, I should get this either today or tomorrow which is very exciting!
From the same interview as the info above, Kendrick said this was the "wackest" song he's ever recorded. I've never heard it til now, but I find it very funny that this is a Kendrick song
It's a bit early for Vince, but I still think Damn runs laps around it, but to each their own. It's interesting you call Damn sprawling, it's so much more accessible than TPAB. On the other hand, I consider Big Fish Theory way more experimental than Summertime.
Me. Someone over in the vinyl thread mentioned that they messaged the store and responded they should all be finished shipping by the end of the month. A little lame that retail versions will ship before the ones we preorder months ago, but I guess it takes quite some time to sign all those records.
I got mine a few weeks ago. Our company helped with this D2C offer and it was a fucking nightmare for a number of reasons that had nothing to do with Kendrick.
So pop-up dates just follow him on tour. Pretty cool. Wonder if it'll be just tour merch with some pieces to fill in the space
That's me too. My wife ordered it and accidentally put my name on the billing info (instead of hers, her card) so I've been a little paranoid about it ha. But they took the money months ago so obviously it worked. But yea, I understand completely.
Direct To Consumer. It's a catchall term for merch, tours, music -- anything an artist is selling directly to their fans instead of asking a third party to do it for them.
Sorry! Nothing interesting, but we don't really talk about that stuff. Suffice to say our customer service team has had a ball with all of the people asking for an update on when their vinyl will come in. The final product is great though! Everyone gets a second copy of the vinyl packaging, which makes it easier for the artist to sign them all and gives you something to display if you want instead of just having your copy of the album be signed. Mine's on the wall of my office.
Makes total sense you can't post about it. I saw the second packaging thing, that's awesome. I'll for sure be displaying it. What a great deal for 40 bucks.
Hope they have some signed vinyl at the pop up stores. Wish I had bought one on the presale, but missed out.
They should do the second packing where it's a stamped autograph with him writing out damn. or some lyric or something.
