It’s troubling and shows how overly sensitive Chance is about his image and criticism, but I wouldn’t equate that with “Of course he’s gonna throw his support behind his MAGA buddy.”
but here we had all these people "oh no not chance chance is so pure" when guess what, he's not, thats all i was saying but yeah take it to a conclusion i didnt even remotely hint at
Sorry if I misinterpreted it. I think Chance has some weird, problematic stuff as much as any artist. But when you say that people upset that he’s supporting Kanye when he was a bully to MTV, it feels like you’re connecting those two things.
and i wouldnt downplay the effects of what chance did regarding mtv news, no doubt that had a role in the subsequent lay offs and downsizing. i find what he did to be really, really, really fucked up
What kills me is “I don’t agree with anyone 100% but myself”. Questioning yourself and feeling conflicted is how you learn and grow. So I guess it makes sense that Kanye is so pitifully regressive.
For sure. It’s an irresponsible use of the balance of power he has that’s in his favor. For him to turn around and do the “Why’s everybody so sensitive? Think for yourself” act says a lot when it involves a person he admires.
I had ignored the new John Legend single but it's actually real tight. I liked his last project a fair amount, would love to hear a straight pop album from his perspective, as this single seems to suggest.
“Parents are the strippers Strip kids of they confidence Teach white dominance Question your common sense See I’m washed in tradition that imma rinse Hoped off the Amistad and made I Am A God" Kanye really rapped this while wearing a maga hat? Lol
Related to this thread, so figured it was worth sharing: Kelis Breaks Her Silence On Violent Marriage And Custody Battle With Nas
This really seems to sum up what Kanye seems to be TRYING to do and failing at. The whole "everyone should have a voice" stuff that is so damaging in reality
Except time and again empathy is met with dismissal, ignoral or, downright violence. The right uses any empathy you give them to tow you to their side, they won't ever come down from their beliefs or meet you halfway, you have to come to them.
