looks like that will be the case, and he might be on a radio show. who know's at this point. the last thing i want is him trying to explain this in twitter.
went in thinking "Wyoming & Kids See Ghost" was a weird name for a record, left with....some things to think about
Me and my friend are becoming Chance truthers. Dude was a plant, and his unwavering support for shitty famous friends really supports that.
I disagree with everything Kanye is doing. Is it dumb though? I mean he is doing it for one reason: publicity. 1. Everybody is talking about Kanye West right now. 2. The vast, vast, vast majority of people who are upset by these comments will still listen to the new album/s. You know it's true. By the time they drop and listeners start talking about it the temptation will be huge. 3. Maybe some more red state folks will also listen -- shit, sad as it is, he'll probably gain more of these listeners than he will lose in far-left listeners. So in my opinion it is not dumb. There are a million different ways he could have promoted himself ahead of the new album which would be better from the standpoint of being a good human being people want to support. But I can't think of any way he could have drummed up more discussion about Kanye West. EDIT -- should say also no fucking way would I suggest anyone promote themselves in this way. I just think he's sitting back feeling like it has been effective. But for everyone else with a conscience, stand for what is right.
That Chance tweet is exactly why I think Kanye is starting some weird political organization. That's also why Chance said that black people don't have to be Democrats. Its a godawful idea and all of this still sucks but it's the best that I can come up with.
Look at any number of people who viewed Ye as more than the dude who made MBDTF. The people who looked up to him from the jump, not in that dumbass /mu/ hypebeast way, but as a role model for their culture. It’s one thing for all the bandwagon fans to jump off after this (and will probably still listen), but I’ve seen enough statements by people of color who are truly crushed by what he’s doing. It’s more than just “dumb”. It’s harmful
That's fine, I figured it would. I hate everything about this. The sad truth is he wanted publicity and he is getting a huge amount.
Harmful is a great word for it. And I hope he loses way more support than he receives. The world is talking about Kanye West so I think he's happy with all this right now, sadly enough.
As someone occasionally popping into this thread and half reading things, I am confident that the world is approaching peak silliness.
I also find it a very bad look that a lot of white celebrities are shaming fans for making Kanye a hero or looking up to him or w/e as if they are the problem. He was an inspiration for many people and I believe the messages on his previous albums still hold weight
