Lol, let me just do a bunch of damage, do nothing to address it or my role, and then ignore all affects and repercussions related to my actions and those I’ve given power to spread damage Yees
"Me and @kanyewest started an album together last January. That same month Candace Owens trolled me on twitter and her followers called me all types of ******s and monkeys for months. Hey Ye it’s probably time to revisit this one... lyrics are timely AF. Welcome back."
Honestly it’s such a shame Ye has fallen so far down the alt-right rabbit hole. I do think he still has such a musical gift, and could have a ton left to say if he had a better perspective on what’s going on in America right now. This is probably controversial, but Kids See Ghosts is honestly one of his best projects imo. I have really conflicted feelings on it because of it being released in the midst of Kanye’s descent into... well, whatever he is now... but I do think it’s a really poignant work with some amazing production and artistic vision. If anything it makes it tougher when there’s still signs of Ye’s brilliance like that project, because it shows the disconnect between his incredible talents and how he’s choosing to express himself recently. Sorry if this doesn’t make much sense, just wanted to vent.
I know a lot of you guys don’t fuck with KSG and I don’t really want to start an argument about the merits of that project... but personally it’s one of his most impactful releases for me. Such a shame that it’s tied up in this extremely messy year for Kanye to put it mildly. I really don’t know how I feel about listening to Ye’s music going forward, but his actions this year absolutely have had an impact on how I view his art... idk.
I think people agree KSG is good. I remember a lot of people liking it upon release. Just like you said not happy with his actions.
I do really enjoy KSG and listened to it a bunch upon release, but even thinking about kanye these days brings me disappointment. I havent listened to it in over a month.
