Gaddafi just didn't have the means to be as bad Trump is by virtue of running a country with about one one thousandth of the global power
Also, did T.I. defend Gadaffi or just lament the objective fact that his absence has led to Libya becoming a failed state where sub-Saharan African migrants are captured and sold at slave markets because that's all I could find and is entirely reasonable
I'm glad to see that TI has done all this other stuff with the suicide interventions and stuff but....has he actually made progress towards the women thing? Because straight up saying "I don't think women should hold the position of President, they're too emotional and might set off a nuke" and only backtrack it with a Twitter apology because of the backlash it'll get is not the most ideal to me. Like regardless of it being on the same day....that's a STRONG statement to say in an article and is quite clear on his position of what he thinks about women. If he's done more than that to show it's legit then fair enough.
Defending Gaddafi based on the results of the absence of his brutal regime sounds very Kissinger to me, if I remember it right you guys weren't a fan of that
This is a Strawman, people are just against using him to downplay the real damage done by Trump, who has a much easier time creating damage
Also, again, the point was to highlight that high diving someone that supports Gaddafi because he also supports some stuff you happen to support, WHILE also shitting on someone for supporting Trump seems a little, uh, weird to me (or, as usual, just America-centric)
Can you show me where he defended Gaddafi because this is all I can find And, sorry, it's much more 'Kissinger' to want to overthrow the evil anti-American African leader
You haven't shown us him supporting Gaddafi, you also haven't addressed all the ways in which Trump is obviously much, much worse than Gaddafi
‘For Gaddafi, rape was a weapon’ - France 24 I'm willing to get back to this when Trump and his literall rape mansions have to be removed from the White House grounds by a cvil war Ask the average Libyan that lived through that regime (of which I, by the way, know a few) what he thinks of your perspectives
You are getting mad at a black man for being mad at a literal slave market, which you have defined as "supporting Gaddafi." I also don't like the aftermath of the Iraq War, does that mean I support Saddam?
Gaddafi was not worse than Trump. Kim Jong Un is not worse than Trump. Assad is not worse than Trump. None of them run a global hegemonic empire in which the brutality and horror visited upon their own population is also extended to the entire global south in order to uphold the economic and geopolitical status quo which keeps the US and the West in general as the richest and most powerful forces in the world. In fact, ALL of them are/were only in power because of the success of anti-colonial and anti-imperial movements. You can't have anti-colonial and anti-imperialist movements without colonialism and imperialism, which the US and the UK are the masters of. So maybe you, as the beneficiary of colonialism and imperialism, should shut the fuck up about the victims of it standing in solidarity with each other.
African slaves 'mutilated and cooked like kebabs' by Libya gangs U don't like this?? WHy do u support Gaddafi doing rape???
i mean, no probably not, TI is extremely flawed himself but again my entire point is that his track record is much better than kanye's when it comes to being outspoken about issues facing the black community. he is an ardent black lives matter supporter. the woman president comments were extremely fucked up and his apology was weak, i can only hope the women in his life have helped him grow over these last three years since he made the comment. but what i will say is that im not in the business of negating all the good someone has done because of a blind spot in their world view. especially a POC voice. dont excuse his comments about women, but dont invalidate his voice as a black man and what hes done to help BLM
Oh for sure, I'm glad to see he has been a great voice on all other avenues. It just kind of shocks me that someone who is so great like that has a glaring issue with women. But hopefully that's changed in the 3 years since that comment, or will change into the future.
I was being a nice person and I decided to give my friend a ride. He was like getting all hyped because he used to remember me as a huge Kanye fan. He starts to play Kids See Ghost and tell me how Kanye is a smart dude because he sees reality in a different view and how he has a chance to be president in 2020. It is awful and I wanted to kick him out of my car.
