Did we grow up in two completely different worlds? everybody I know irl except like 4 people have hated him for his entire career. Literally hated him. Now over time he’s given people plenty of reasons to hate him, but there was a point when most of the hate was because he was “too into himself” or “too cocky”, which is a concept he addressed on his first couple records. Hell when did the Taylor thing happen? You mean to tell me you think nobody criticized him after that?
Or think of it this way - when people talk about "privilege" they're talking about "who can afford to make mistakes." I think it's safe to say Kanye and Trump made a lot of mistakes the last few years. Is it costing them? Are they underdogs? Bc to me it sounds like whatever the complete opposite of that is.
if kanye was a real underdog the mediocre project he just put out (Ye) wouldn't have done well commercially
i think its wrong to call him an underdog because anecdotally people you know IRL dont like him. the numbers dont lie, his albums have all sold really well and hes played massive venues and won grammys and been on the VMA's. he has, by every stretch you could measure it by, been incredibly successful in music. not really an underdog at all.
I don’t think he is an underdog. I think “you were the pariah if you criticized him” is just not true. I’m only saying he has always received criticism while being massively successful. They’re both true. Also I really have no interest in defending Kanye, so I apologize for even saying anything. I do agree that he isn’t an underdog, especially at this point in his career.
Stay tuned up and down your timeline This fake news, people is all lying Money is being made when a mom cries Won't be satisfied till we all die Tell me who do we call to report crime If 911 doin' a driveby It's certain things I can't abide by I ain't talking extreme, this is my side Talkin' big shit ready to die I know every story got two sides Claiming he paranoid by the black guy Cop wanna make it home by night time Just a good kid, he wasn't that guy Had a little hit, he wasn't that high Cop gon' claim that it was self-defense Say he was riding dirty so the case rests Workin' nine to five Tryna stay alive Making ends meet Shot him this week New Ye verse from tonight
Same, she’s got her parts on cruel summer I liked and dark fantasy that I liked but other than that nothing else
im not gonna listen the nas album even out of curiosity. the lines im seeing pulled from it seem bad and i can probably guess what the production sounds like already.
I meant that line the in context of music publications and music critics. Those people were defending him beyond all measures. They were the ones that really helped, and continue to, shore up his cultural influence and power that he still has to this day.
Yeah, it’s pretty awesome that Kanye wrote a song about respecting women then works with a domestic abuser.
A parent hates to watch his baby's face Takin' his first immunization shots, but this is great The child's introduction to suffering and pain Understands without words Nothin' is explained or rushed to the brain Lookin' up at his parents' face Like, "I thought you would protect me from this scary place?" "Why'd you let them inject me?" "Who's gonna know how these side effects is gonna affect me?"
hard to believe MBDTF was almost 8yrs ago now. I remember the huge hype and build up in the months prior with all the GOOD Friday songs. Back when Kanye used his Twitter for good, not evil
