Yeah, Kanye sounds better on this than on his own album but not much really stood out on first listen; in fact, despite that this seems more focused, something about it STILL feels unfinished (and boring) to me. But I was also listening to it while half asleep so maybe my opinion will change.

 

there's an alternate universe where he dropped this last week instead, then spent the extra week making Ye less terrible. I want to go to there.

 

me too, seems like this was wayyyyyy more polished, and not done in a week.

 

outside of the lyrics, the more I listen to ye, the more I realize that it's musically on par with a lot of his other work, albeit not quite as fleshed out. as time goes on, I think it will age better than this thread would have you believe.

WTT is one album that could have been well served by this new 7-song trend he's on, cos holy fuck that thing is bloated and inconsistent as shit. Jay-Z drags it down 9 verses out of 10 too.

 

Listening to his older stuff again makes ye look even worse in comparison imo. It's so bland and half baked.

I wonder when this was recorded since Kanye makes no mention of Trump or really any edgelord bullshit.
