I still am really enjoying this. I’ll say I won’t but I’ll probably end up staying up for tonight’s livestream.

Been a great week and a half of music for me. Father John Misty, Oneohtrix Point Never and this have been nonstop rotation. Not to mention DAYTONA and a sprinkle of Prass.

i keep telling myself that maybe kids see ghosts will be better than ye since i'm assuming it wasn't thrown together at the last minute but i really can't see cudi being featured prominently on an album i love

Prass & FJM, and even A$AP, just completely overshadowed this for me. I only felt compelled to listen to Ye a few times bc everyone's talking about it. Really I feel like I've done a disservice to those other releases by having listened to this more than once.

ASAP felt so empty despite great production

When the best part of your album isn’t you, it’s not a good sign

Being not the best part of your album doesn't automatically make your album bad imo. Happens to kanye sometimes. Some artists are better at bringing other people into their world and creating an experience than standing on their own. Maybe better artists stand on their own as well but it's not impossible to make good art as more of a curator I guess. All that said, Testing is mostly pretty boring with some really cool parts scattered throughout

I thoroughly enjoy the ASAP album. They dont contain his best raps but the production is pretty out of this world, and the song structures are all over the place. The features bring out really great performances, ie. cudi, frank, and french montana. A cool experiment imo, which is what I think he was going for given the title

    It is always needed

  16. I love the first 2 tracks on the rocky album and then it kind of falls off with some spare cool moments throughout. Pretty disappointing because I really loved ALLA and thought it didn’t get enough love

I've just never gelled with a fully Rocky record, love a few songs here and there but it always feels like something is missing.

its a shame he's never come close to topping his first mixtape

He flopped too, never really had a breakout hit to get on that next level, and has been declining in critical praise. His career could’ve gone a lot of different ways.

  20. Yams' death really changed the trajectory of his and Ferg's careers imo

  22. Plain Jane is great and most of Still Striving is good but nothing has come close to touching Trap Lord
