Something I miss in all of this (and the stuff that went on in the last album cycle) is the coherent Kanye. I sometimes disagreed with the *old Kanye*, but there usually was consistency and coherency there.
I read through a lot of these comments. A lot of them are just "shaun king is white" which is an illogical attack on him and has nothing to do with the conversation. A lot of them are repeating her "victim vs victor" mentality claim, which is inherently flawed. Preaching that working against systematic acts of injustice is the work of of a "victim" is so clearly backwards, a victim sits back and let's injustice happen, claims there is nothing to be done, makes no effort to fight and change the system that is allowing these acts to continue happening. A victor fights, and not just for individual success, but for the overall success of people are facing injustice at a high level. If you get hit, a Victor fights back, this ideological victim says "no one hit me, this isn't real, and if I am hurt its my own fault." And the other claim is that the Democratic party hasn't done enough for the black community, which is valid as fuck, but there's never an answer to what the Republican party offers. And that's because they don't offer anything besides telling people that the actual issues they're facing don't exist. There's no solution, no solidarity, no work to make changes and improve lives, just a wave of the hand to say "this problem you have? its your fault, there's nothing we can do, just shut up and accept it." That's a weird combo of gaslighting, this victim mentality bullshit, and continuing to show that Republicans have no platform to help poor communities besides telling them to stop fighting for a better situation and accept the bullshit they face as normal.
Galaxy brain rubin had to give his input I hope something very bad happens to this man. He consistently gives the worst people with the worst ideas a platform to say anything they want without question
I mean a lot of liberals follow Trump, it doesn’t mean that you subscribe to what they believe. EDIT: Also Rubin has two tweets, one from 2 days ago and one from 2014, and no likes or whatever, so that’s weird, haha.
I mean who knows, all I know is that everytime I heard him talk about anything non-music related, all he talked about was vaguely Buddhist stuff
Okay I must be missing something because when I go to his Twitter all I see is two tweets, one from 2014 that is about nothing, and one from two days ago, which is a quote by him about patience or whatever
Ah the article that @sophos34 posted says he deleted the tweet shortly after. It also says he follows people across a very wide “political” spectrum. So I still maintain that it doesn’t mean anything necessarily. A lot of people follow people they disagree with. Also he doesn’t actually appear to really use Twitter.
i mean you can throw your blinders up and ignore the red flags all you want just dont act all shocked when it comes to light what rick rubin is really about
I’m just saying there isn’t much to go on either way here. You might as well say he’s a liberal because he follows Ta-Nehisi Coates. Also who knows why he retweeted something he then deleted, especially given that he never tweets. If it was a statement, why delete it? I don’t think he’d be worried about the backlash. Anyway, who knows. Also I’m not shocked when eccentric people behave weirdly and/or badly. Dissapointed is more like it, if anything.
This is why I stay off social media. People connecting all kinds of dots on their own. And people are usually pretty stupid.
