Not to bring up a dead argument, but... this I think is the key point. I think communism fundamentally misunderstands human nature, and that's why no stateless and classless society ever existed (and there probably will never be one) despite dozens of states becoming communist at one point or another in the 20th century. Giving near-absolute power to any government is a surefire way to ensure that they will NEVER voluntarily give up that power... and the expectation inherent in Marxism is that somehow, that is exactly what will happen as the final step in establishing a classless society.

I agree with the posters who say Marxism is a nice theory, but one that is perhaps fundamentally incompatible with human nature and the world we actually live in. I absolutely think there's MUCH that can be done to reform capitalism, but honestly it's a little baffling to me that there are still communists today after basically half the world tried it at various points throughout the 20th century with ZERO true success stories (AKA zero classless societies established as a result). People point to that in order to say that "true communism" has never actually been tested, but I take it to mean that a true classless society is an unachievable fantasy.

this post is so flawed in so many ways i dont even know where to fucking begin. so since communism hasn't worked in the times its been tried for this 100 year time period (a fucking BLIP in human existence) it should never be tried again and it definitely could never work? despite the fact that so many of those failures are due to the United States and other capitalist countries intervening and suppressing those economies because they didn't step in line with the capitalist agenda? you just gonna ignore that huh? you're fucking smarter than this is and this post is an embarrassment. id expect this argument from a troll with no knowledge of politic theory or the most basic surface level reading of political theory and the modern history of politics in the world. come the fuck on dude.
