Well my response would be to ask what you define as working, then. Is the United States working? The US has one of highest child poverty rates in the western world and among the highest income inequality rates in the world period. I think that matters a lot more technological progress

I guess, also, if we wanna talk about like progression and whatnot, look at the developments in China and the USSR following their implementations of socialism. From agrarian states to world superpowers in less than a quarter of the time it took the US to do the same

Just want to say that even as someone already firmly on Team Fuck-Capitalism I've found the last few pages really enlightening, thanks to everyone who's taken the time to explain things so well.

 

My favorite thing is when people who earn a wage call themselves capitalists. That’s that good shit.

 

I thought 90% were very respectful in their disagreements with me and I find that very refreshing myself.

I appreciate that most people can have disagreements and be able to express their side without resorting to name calling or dismissing the other side entirely. Leads to better discourse.
