I remember having to close during the show and getting off work like at 11 pm. I then watched the whole show while following along on AP. It was so fun to see everyone reaction especially during the opening.
Yeah I remember sitting in the theater and texting my friend excitedly when Chance's verse happened. And then again when the sample at the end of Famous hit. The rolllut had some rough spots but that theater event was amazing. I'll never forget that experience.
Is it? I always just assumed it was a favorite. It's third for me afternoon Ultralight Beams and Waves
The theatre experience was awesome. Glad I was able to be a part of it. I wonder if any other artists can or would do something similar. I guess closest was Brand New. Artist making the first listen be with the whole album. Preventing skipping and all that
"The Good Life" was the first song my roommate played after I proposed to my fiancee on our balcony, haha. Probably gonna play "Touch the Sky" when we walk into our wedding reception
Echoing most of the rollout sentiments. Rough at times, but man...I was going through one of the worst depressive episodes I've ever experienced, and that album just helped me so much. That was the first time I ever got to experience a Kanye rollout with someone. My roommate and I kept up with all the news and went to our local theater for the MSG event right before we went out to celebrate my 21st birthday. I don't think I've gone a week without playing TLOP since release. It's so kaleidoscopic in the emotions it showcases, and above that it just sounds so joyful. It still helps me when I'm feeling anxious or depressed, and for all of those reasons, it is far and away my favorite Kanye album.
I can totally understand that, some albums just hit you at the right place at the right time, there are some totally random albums that mean a lot to me because of that
I somehow found a free download of TLOP with no viruses on like the first weekend it was out. Will always be a fan of the OG, drives me crazy that Chance has a weirdly wedged in line on Ultralight Beam.
it’s hard to listen to this album a lot for me. But I love the amount of sonic experimentation. The end of FML is a great example
They should of just got The Weeknd on that hook too so I could listen to it without thinking about Chris Brown
This is part of why I love it. Me and my roommates at the time were keeping up on every detail, and when it finally released it was so exciting, then waiting for it to like actually release between the fashion show and when it hit streaming. It was all really exciting. And it was all we listened to through the summer. Cruising around blasting these songs were some of the best times I had in college. It's always going to be a special album for me.
That Section 25 sample and the whole "They don't wanna see me love you" part is my favorite moment on the album
There is a legitimate chance The Glory is my most listened to song of all time. It might be the best running song ever made (RIP in shape me)
My girlfriend's sister in law constantly sends us links to articles about "Kim and Kanye's divorce" which she is convinced is real and it's pissing me off
I never get why people root for a family to fall apart? Kanye and Kim actually seem like one of the more solid Hollywood marriages, and seem to really love each other and their kids. Who knows if it will last (as with any marriage), but I'm definitely not rooting for it to fail.
