"I loved his approach. It’d be like white people that’s racist running around saying “*****s” now. If people are racist and they feel more inspired to say how they feel then they exposing themselves, bro. This is what I’m saying. It’s already the beginning of change. Sometimes things that you might think are bad have to happen in order for change to fucking happen. Sometimes you might have to not get your way to really understand what to do in the future to be able to get your way." Kanye Says He Still Believes in “Black Lives Matter, Women’s Rights, Gay Marriage” in Extended Trump Rant Video | Pitchfork
Moving beyond whatever Ye's motivation is, has this ever happened before? A hip hop artist having a sit down with the president elect that isn't just a photo op or media event?
I don't know if it's much of a reach in the context that he didn't vote to begin with. I also don't think he met with Trump because he wants to work with/for him so much as he's millions of dollars in debt and Trump is a billionaire. This is just me trying to create a cohesive narrative out of Kanye's words and actions, though I understand "cohesive" probably doesn't apply to Kanye.
I know Jay Z had a sitdown with Pres. Obama before he was president but not sure if he was president elect at the time
Post-leftism pretty much only exists as post-left anarchism which is basically an anarchism which rejects leftist collectivism, ideology, marxism, morality, organization, work as a whole including socialist and communist work, and tradition. Focus instead on lifestylism, insurrectionism, nihilism, and spontaneous non-organizational demonstrations. Important contemporary works include CWC Texts : Selected Primary Texts : Your Politics Are Boring As Fuck, Critical Analysis of the Left: Lets Clean House | The Anarchist Library, among others. Important historical works include Camatte: On organization, The Ego and His Own | The Anarchist Library, among others. I don't think this is Kanye tho. None of them are accelerationists really except primmies
lets be real theres a huge chance this was a stunt by trump to distract from literally everything else https://thinkprogress.org/trump-meeting-kanye-distractions-da8dcfa5b73c#.id25qp412
I feel like Kanye thinks he can actually help make a difference but doesn't realize how it looks to everyone.
Maybe but I also think we tend to make a lot of excuses for him because of our attachment to his music.
i mean it can be that he wants to help but he should know better than to kiss up to a figure like trump regardless
that article kind of overlooks a lot of nuance, like the fact that he donated to clinton or that everyone treated his presidential announcement (made during trump's campaign) as a meme and not a serious thing
