Forever has too many memories attached for me to consider it bad. I enjoy Drakes pre-TML corny pun lines to most of what he puts out now, tbh
Man, Jay Z is gonna make a couple billion dollars from shitty tidal just by calling up a few musical friends and asking for a quick favor. Think about it.
Tidal is the lamest thing to happen in ages. Didn't he start it by criticizing other streaming services and saying he wanted to provide a better one for artists and now he's just trying to make some money for himself?
I like Forever too but it's probably just because I picture Drake turning into a Sprite robot every time I hear it
If Forever had come out 2-3 years later Ye would not have gotten away with saying "I had raped the game young, you could call it statutory". I listened to it A LOT whenever it came out though, junior or senior year of high school it was big with a lot of people I knew.
You're not alone. I hate that song, but no one can deny that it did its job. There was a two-month stretch where it was everywhere, Eminem got his first big step back into the spotlight after a few years of drug addiction, and Drake had his second #1 Rap song as a lead artist Not bad for a posse cut that was cobbled together for a Lebron documentary in 2009.
If we discarded every dope song that had mediocre verses, we'd be listening to much fewer songs. Casino on "Karate Chop" Jay on "Pound Cake" Witchdoctor on "Mamacita" idk the list goes on.
Sometimes I wonder if Caroline Shaw's vocals in Wolves is the only reason we don't all think its a bad song
Felt that way about the album for a while now, unfortunately. Ultralight Beams, FML, and Real Friends are still great.
"Wolves" is a really good song idea that's stretched way too long and Kanye's cut sounds like a fan edit.
I'm never going to a write a review but if I did the headline would be "Kanye West Sloppily Pushes Musical Boundaries"
