Does anyone know any other songs where Nicki raps that well? I've never heard one that even comes close

 

Nicki is an amazing rapper. She makes a lot of bad songs imo but she can rap like few can.

 

I keep hearing her Rake It Up song, and her feature there isn't as good as her Monster verse but she's running circles around Yo Gotti. Nicki's really underrated.

 

It might be my favorite verse ever. It gives me chills nearly every time.

I've always wished I could see how they all interacted with each other during the recording of Monster. Especially JV lol

 

Yo Gotti is a very interesting rapper in his own right though

 

Kanye albums have two of my favorite verses of all time and neither are even Kanye himself.

iconic. Dissect does a great episode on this song and dives really deep into this verse

 

I remember really liking her on the Best I Ever Had Remix, which would have been.. 09? I had heard her before but that's when it really clicked for me.

 

this was the first time I ever heard Nicki. lol what a bizarre song

 

The most recent Dissect episode on Runaway was so good.

oh man. I haven't listened yet but that's the one I've been waiting for. I was so moved the first time I heard Runaway at the 2010 VMAs - can't wait to listen

I don't think it's as mutable as you're making it seem, and I meant it in the context of someone who became a superstar anyway. Like... Kanye had "Can't Tell Me Nothing" take off. Didn't change his sonic trajectory. If "Who Dat" or "Workout Plan" did better, it probably wouldn't have moved where J Cole is at.

Just interesting that Nikki went from someone who was featuring Massive Attack to someone who prob wouldn't be anywhere near that now.
