I like analyzing the Chance backlash tho, I think Acid Rap is better but is also overrated because most people had low expectations going in and were surprised by a great project from a guy they didn't really know much about, while Coloring Book had massive hype behind it and a greater chance to be let down. I think Coloring Book sounds better for sure, and the strongest tracks are great, but there's also more variance while Acid Rap is real consistent. The backlash is inevitable but it is funny the weird things people bring up as an excuse to just kind of all say "I dunno I guess I'm gettin sick of this dude a little"
I'll defend Chance any ...... chance ....... I can. Acid Rap a modern favorite for me and Coloring Book is probably the better release
For what I enjoy about Chance, peak-Chance in my mind is Sunday Candy, Angels, Ultra Light Beam, All My Friends. And I didn't feel like Chance hit those peaks very often on Coloring Book
Overexposure is def behind the backlash for a lot of people. Kind of dumb but them’s the breaks. Coloring Book is pretty good and his live show is incredible
this is how i felt until my vinyl bootleg came with it twice in a row instead of "Fade" and now I just let it play through because that beat is ridic
The first time I heard Smoke Break, it was on in the background and I wasn't really paying attention. Imagine my surprise when Chance started crooning WEEEEEEEZER WEEEEEEZER A SMOKE BREAK
TLOP is definitely better than Graduation And I love all Chance projects but Acid Rap>Coloring Book for sure for me I really can't wait for his "debut" album though ( what he's calling it), I think it will be his best yet
Revisited Coloring Book because of this thread and it's still wonderful through and through (although it's kind of ridiculous, the last 20 minutes/four tracks all feel like closers)

Coloring Book is moderately better than Acid Rap. They're both great. I have some real good memories of driving around to Coloring Book
Feel like I can listen to any song from Acid Rap at any time. Feel like whenever I listen to Coloring Book I need to listen to the whole thing. Not sure I could choose between the two as a favorite but Coloring Book is probably the *better* project, I guess
