Yeah, we got a much more polished show than Indy, and the transitions were much smoother. If the techs can get the stage set up and cleared for safety a little bit earlier (I'm not complaining, it was an unbelievable feat the techs made and deserve as much credit as Kanye) to allow for an extra 30-40 minutes, it will be utterly fantastic. You should have a great time.
Last night was fucking awesome. I was in one of the lower sections of seats and had a great time. The floor did look awesome though Was bummed he didn't play a single Late Registration song though
I don't know if this makes me more or less furious for accidentally purchasing tickets in section 200 rather than floor. I still have another month-plus for the Cleveland show. Wonder if he changes this set-up throughout the tour.
Going a week from today. Really curious to see what VIP ends up getting me involved with. The floor looks insane in the clips I saw.
I really want to go to this again and do floor tickets this time. If anyone is selling Cleveland floor tickets for a reasonable price let me know!
If anyone has any interest, I wrote up a blog piece about the experience at the opening night in Indy and some of my takeaways on the performance. I feel like I've been thinking and talking about the show with people way more than after a typical concert. Kinda bummed we missed out on "Ultralight Beam," but I expected that the setlist would be morphing throughout the duration of the tour.
It was exactly that. Surprisingly great vibes too, everyone was so happy and took care to watch out for one another.
I wish people could have controlled their excitement and respected Kanye's space so storytime could have lasted.
I can't really comment since I was right against the stage, and touched his hand when he leaned over the side haha. I probably saw you on the floor, I was the dude going ham with a white "mighty ducks" hat on.
There was a tweet from a dude who works at DONDA who said that merch is going to be different throughout the tour
i've come to accept if he does something i think is lame it's probably some higher form of art i have yet to realize.
Yeah I wanted to buy a "I Feel Like Pablo" shirt so bad too.. But my friend wouldn't let me leave without a shirt and bought me one so I can't complain lol
Who Tweeted it, do you recall? I follow almost (if not) everyone in the Donda camp and I missed that.
Definitely enjoyed the Yeezus tour more than this one. The whole concert had the same messy feeling of the rollout, from kicking off 80 minutes late to the many songs he cut short or started over part way through. The Pablo tracks are clearly the standout here, Father Pt. 1 being the biggest (he played it twice back to back then near the end of the set he called to have it played a third time). We did not get Real Friends which was a disappointment, but we got the tour debut for Waves (!), Heartless, Gold Digger, Stronger, and Touch the Sky, of which Waves was the best (and the crowd loved it, always viewed it as one of the Pablo tracks that got overlooked). He seemed a lot more forgetful about lyrics this time around too. All around this plays like the complete opposite of the Yeezus tour. That a meticulously crafted mega spectacle, Saint Pablo a minimalist, intimate showcase willing to show its blemishes. For me, it's not peak Kanye, but it is a strong representation of The Life of Pablo and where Kanye seems to be in our perspective right now.
I kinda expected him to be rusty like this after going so long without shows. It didn't take away from my enjoyment of the show though.
I really feel like this set-up creates the largest disparity between people's enjoyment of GA and seated areas. Completely different experiences, more so than many other concerts.
