I watched Bad Boys For Life today. I loved it. I’m easy. Also my favorite three Star Wars movies are, in no order, 1, 5 and 7.
3 is the worst because nothing anyone does make sense except in the context of setting up the original series. Yoda and Obi-Wan splitting up to the fight Palpatine and Anakin separately makes no sense. Together they could have ended the whole coup right there
I'm not a big SW guy, but I have spent an entire day watching the first 6 episodes in a row in the "machete sequence". Anyone else?
If you mean out of all Star Wars, then no because 9 exists. But, yeah, 3 is easily the worst of the prequel trilogy, & it’s baffling to me that so many people think it’s “the good one.” Nerd fandom sure does love death & darkness as lazy aesthetic signifiers of maturity, lol.
Have not watched 9 lol But yes I think the darker tone makes people overlook just how horrendous it all was. I had the same view on it until I rewatched them earlier this year and was very disappointed that 3 didn’t offer some relief from the other two lol. What people hate most about 2 is the Anakin/Padme side-plot, but their scenes together in 3 are just as horrible if not worse. And I think the whole investigation into the clones in 2 is one of the better (ie, just not as bad as the rest) parts of that trilogy
The 50s diner is some of the most embarrassing shit imaginable I still to this day cannot believe it’s real.
Yeah I mean comparing the prequels to one another is really just splitting hairs, they’re all truly horrible films and which ones are better than which kind of just comes down to personal preference.
Clones is better than Sith because there’s more silly pulp fun in Clones. It’s a bad movie (like the rest of the trilogy), but the parts that work are good John Carter/Valerian-type adventure scenes, & most of what doesn’t is b-movie dumb fun.
(I don’t know what it says about the current state of Kanye that it’s more fun going through the same ol’ Star Wars conversation again in his thread than it is talking about him, lol.)
