I was born during the lull in the series and my older cousins were not into it. Wayy more a Power Rangers kid
I was a Power Ranger for multiple Halloweens. But I think the biggest franchises for myself pre-middle school were like Pokemon, Harry Potter, and pre-MCU superhero movies like Spider-Man and X-Men.
The prequels are fucking unwatchable. Maybe the worst acting and dialogue in any big budget movie. The Disney trilogy absolutely blows them out of the water simply in terms of filmmaking.
The Last Jedi is my third favorite Star Wars film. But, if I were weighing the prequel trilogy against just the Abrams films, I’d at this point go with the prequels’ pulpy nonsense. Kanye West praising Revenge of the Sith (the worst of the trilogy) on Joe Rogan’s podcast is a real singularity of dumb internet shit, though, lol. At least it’s a better viral moment to come out of it than a lot of what I would’ve expected. Also, since it came up, Power Rangers ruled.
I simply do not care about anyone else's takes on the media I grew up with ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ if it still manages to make me feel warm and fuzzy and distract me from this hell world for two hours, that means something to me
Yeah this is correct, although I didn’t see any of them past the fifth one because it was so offensively bad I couldn’t sit through any more. Anyway, good thing that whole franchise can go in the trash now since JKR is terf trash
I was the only Star Wars fan in my universe too, until the Prequels came out, at which point others got into it.
I prefer the first two Harry Potter movies (which I think are fun, warm kids movies) over the others by a lot, which apparently is a minority opinion
I agree with this. Much prefer the first four movies because they are much more light-hearted (and nostalgic) than the visually and tonally dark second half of the series. Those early ones are very nice to watch around the holidays.
Power Rangers for life. The toys were incredible & now, as an adult, I can appreciate the underdog story of a refugee figuring out how to produce it cheaply & making it big
Yes and it was cool but he’s not close to Cuaron’s level. I’m not sure anyone in Star Wars, the MCU, or Harry Potter is
cuaron does have two of my favorite films ever. and two id rather never think about again (as well as several i haven’t seen). johnson probably doesn’t have as high of peaks but even his most frustrating film (probably looper) doesn’t bother me as much as azkaban or gravity
