Every few years a faction attempts to break off from the site and form their own, and it always fails
you love to see them try, haha. better than the ones that post here every single day but also proudly profess their hatred for this place at every chance they get!
made of chalk is the only one i remember. they did cool video shit too. i seem to remember a dope bon iver video. but yeah, the "forum" was awful lol
Imo AP was better once the “clique” left. They would literally pm other members to go into threads they weren’t following to bully people who had a different opinion than them. There’s always a couple bad eggs on here, but overall the website is much more civil than the AP days.
i know a lot of people here liked them but mal/darrick were two of the most unpleasant and generally mean people i've ever encountered on the internet
I'm lucky I don't take anything from the internet to heart, plenty of AP folks treated me pretty shitty but I mostly just laughed it off, realizing it says more about the assholes than myself
Made of Chalk was made as a different news site entirely, wasn’t meant to be like a replacement AP forum or anything
With them and some others, they were clearly putting on this act, and whenever they dropped that they were fine. But yeah a lot of the time it was just like, either intentionally annoying or outright mean for no reason
It's funny remembering when I was one of those lame newbies who wasn't even around for, like, scene points or whatever things people were nostalgic about back then. But, now, I've got 11 & a half years of being part of all this. Oh my gosh so many wasted hours so many wasted years what have I done with my life...
Could get pretty vicious around the mid 00’s from what I remember on AP.net. I’m definitely not 100% innocent but the chorus forum is much better imo. I’ve been coming to this website since Fall ‘03? Woof. 17 years. Might have even been earlier. It was AP.net when I discovered it, I know it was no longer the Blink fan site. So whenever that changeover happened. maybe it was fall 02? I’m trying to think of the big records that we’re getting pumped up on the site around the time. I know Tell All Your Friends and Full Collapse were obviously a huge deal.
How many people have spent over half their lives here/there? I’m only at a little over a third of mine.
Is there a new music thread equivalent here? There should be. The content they shared itself was cool
