one can wish for him to get the help he needs to improve his mental health and sympathise with him for his mental struggles without advocating for or supporting his political thoughts and actions.
Today, I learned the empathy I have for someone with BPD, an illness I am all too familiar with, is actually just passion for a facist-supporting billionaire! Pretty neat!
Aaron didn’t say that excuses anything bad he does, he just said he has empathy for the struggles someone with BPD is going through. That doesn’t mean he supports the things Kanye says at all. You’re twisting his words.
Just spitballing here but it's entirely possible to feel sympathy for a man having a very public battle with bipolar disorder while voicing disapproval of his abhorrent political views.
Buddy you're clearly not actually engaging with anything anyone is saying to you, no one has said anything close to this. Youre just strawmanning. Take a time out.
Imagine not reading any of the posts itt vocalizing all of the harm and hurt Kanye has caused, and instead gunning for people who simply don't want him dead lol real galaxy brain hours
How far would I take it? I wouldn't want a single person on the planet struggling with mental health issues.
I am anti-death penalty and anti-prison, and pro-rehabilitation and mental health care, so I don’t find it difficult to wish the best for Kanye mentally and oppose his views/wealth
I’ve typed a few different posts from a few different angles that I’ve deleted instead of posting. I guess all I really wanna say is that empathy and nuance are characteristics of depth & maturity, not shallowness & stupidity. And if your opposition to fascism, capitalism, etc., leads you to have less empathy instead of more, you may have lost the thread a little & maybe need to re-center yourself a little.
You said you wished the worst. In the context of the most recent situation, it is not too radical to say that he could harm himself or his family. That would be the worst. Do you wish death on him?
Empathy is useful, even when it comes to those we disagree with. Crucial, even. Billionaires don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt, they are a policy failure, and they’re inherently immoral. But understanding them as human beings is useful, especially when their psyche intersects with aspects of identity like race, gender, mental health, etc
i don’t care about billionaires at all. i fundamentally think they shouldn’t exist. that doesn’t mean i want them to die / want their mental health issues to worsen / want something bad to happen to their children didn’t think i’d have to type that sentence but this website constantly surprises me!
shot “i’m not the aggressor in this situation” chaser “shut the fuck up”/“get fucked” i’m not acting like i’m better than you. i 1000% am fully better than you lol.
My initial cosplay comments were condescending & clearly struck a nerve with you, @Punisher316. And, I’m honestly sorry about that part. I personally don’t think I’m better than you or anyone else. I’m just incredibly passionate about empathy. Which, is something I think we all fucking suck at sometimes.
