adidas has been bizarrely complacent with Kanye’s (gestures are everything) the past few years. The dude that runs YZY on the adidas side posts anti trump shit all day every day on Instagram but seemingly has no issue with Kanye being vocal trump supporter or with any of this “presidential run” bullshit. That is not a company that seems to really care much about being culturally aware
Tons of people calling it all a ploy before the album comes out but idk.... you don’t say the shit he said if you’re wanting to sell an album. He should stop working for about a year and sit at home with his family.
The album isn't coming out and even if it did that would only make things worse, but calling this all a ploy to sell the album is grossly ignorant imo. He's fucking Kanye West, he's been a walking publicity stunt for his entire career, he doesn't need to do any of this shit to sell an album (or anything for that matter). Pardon my ignorance on this particular issue but is there any way he can be involuntarily committed to some kind of facility? I know that already happened to him once when he was getting bad around the TLOP tour and he's only gotten worse since then, but right now I'm genuinely terrified that I'm going to wake up to news that he's gone tomorrow. He's having a real breakdown in front of the entire world and thousands and thousands of people are just piling on, whether it's shitting on him or egging him on. He needs to step away from EVERYTHING and I don't think he's going to do that willingly.
I greatly dislike him after years of tarnishing his reputation in public with his support of the fascist Republican party but I hope he can get the help he so clearly needs. It's sad to see him flame out like this. I'm not sure he's fully deserving of sympathy - he's not a good person and has done a lot of damage - but his poor mental health isn't something to be scorned. Whether he actually wants to accept help is another matter entirely.
Is this a bit? Are you roleplaying as Marvel's Punisher? 'Cause this kinda character may make for a great Lexi Alexander action film, but it's not the best way to engage with someone in real life clearly going through some shit.
My politics are a lot more "leftist" than "liberal," but I'm also a human being, living in the mess that is real life, with basic empathy for other humans. But if roleplaying this online parody of antifa activism is how you cope with the weight of existing in 2020, more power to you, I guess.
Lots - if not the majority - of the people in this thread agree that he is not a good person who should not have a public platform. We are on the same page there. It seems like your main sticking point is the idea that we don’t think he should slip into further insanity and die. But hey, I only have five sympathies left today, I have to use them sparingly, as “caring” and “sympathy” are finite constructs that can’t be allocated to multiple causes.
Lol I mean coming in here and saying you wish the worst for a man who is clearly going through some shit carries weight beyond wanting him to lose his public platform and to redistribute his wealth
I think he never coped with the loss and has continued to make detrimental decisions since her death.
I don’t want Kanye to hurt himself or his family. He can step off the public stage forever, and I’ve been saying that since Pre-Pablo. what a weird convo!
