yep. let's hope this step is the start of a whole bunch of steps, but not holding my breath. This action on it's own is good.
Honestly do not want to hear a word from him about what’s going on because he probably will make it worse
it's totally reasonable to criticize his past actions, some of which were outright disgusting, but when someone does a good thing like that, maybe focus on that for a moment, and reinforce it, rather than continuing to dwell on the past
It’s a good thing. It’d hit harder if he were to renounce his explicit views of the last couple years. I mean, he rode hard and explicitly for horrific ideologies.
Not disagreeing with any of that. Just saying that people (not necessarily Kayne) can change and should be encouraged to. Not saying this absolves him of his past, and it shouldn't be easily forgotten or forgiven, but I'm glad he finally did something that supported the right side of this movement. Just think the focus should be on that in the moment. Any little bit of changing someone's mind or getting them to support the cause is a good thing
Damn. That’s a great thing. Opening his wallet for the families. The best thing he’s done in years. Next step is to call out Trump and denounce the bullshit
I mean, it's a drop in the bucket considering his wealth, but it's still a lot of money that can do a lot of good.
I don’t care whether or not he “has a redemption arc.” His moral standing is not an important conversation right now. Glad he did one good thing, but im not gifting him the spotlight for it.
I agree wholeheartedly. I'm not looking to give him any "points" and I apologize if my optimism read that way.
I don't think anyone in here is giving him "points" or anything. It's OK to realize that a good thing (donation) happened without linking it to the human.
2m from a billionaire is couch change to us. That’s not a good thing, that’s far less than what basic taxes should do in a just society. (Before getting to the harm he’s already caused with ... everything.)
look we aren't going to agree here. I don't care in comparison to who he is, that's not what I want to focus on right now. 2 million dollars was donated to a great cause and that is a good thing. End of statement.
I'm not too sure there's any merit to this but I figured it's worth sharing, I'm seeing it all over Twitter. I wanna see Ye do better, I really do. But I don't think I will.
