I remember watching an interview and he was like “Gold Digger? I hated that song, but I knew it was gonna be a huge hit. So I put it in the album.”
related the hook to All Falls Down being a Lauryn Hill sample he couldn't clear so he rerecorded it is wild
I guess I've just heard the original a gazillion times, but I'm not feeling Lauryn Hill on that hook. Now, if he had her do a verse...
yeah the re-recorded "All Falls Down" is way better sorry Ms. Hill the OG "Homecoming" on the other hand? crushes that Chris Martin version all day
He has said a few times that he’s always preferred his sonically darker songs, especially as lead singles on the early records. “Diamonds from Sierra Leone” and “Cant Tell Me Nothing” specifically. Both were followed by the big singles from their respective records.
Francis and the Lights is one of those things where the artist is lucky to have so many great connections since most of his music is like mediocre Peter Gabriel.
Francis has a couple songs I LOVE (Friends, See Her Out, May I Have This Dance, Just for Us) but he's remarkably inconsistent imo
Yeah. I have no problem with him. I thought "May I Have This Dance?" was great. But his albums are mostly a snooze for me.
I'm here for new Kanye always but I'm a little sad that Yandhi might be scrapped cause those demos were heat
I really want this to be good, but given what he's become and the disappointment that was Ye, this is unfortunately the least I've ever been excited for an album by someone I used to consider something of a hero. I've said it before, but it pains me in a weird way when I realize how little I care about the prospect of new music from him. He played such a large role in my life throughout high school and college.
Kanye updating his website with that picture is like the most actual concrete record promo he has done in ages.
