Speaking of the Chance thing, him rapping about his wife is nowhere near the biggest problem The Big Day has. It's overlong (he packs a ton of songs on here that make the album considerably less cohesive), the production isn't nearly as interesting as what he usually goes over, and he dumbs his rapping and especially his previously really unique delivery down a LOT. My biggest issue is that a lot of it is just kind of boring. I don't hate the album nearly as much as the internet seems to, I've definitely gotten some great songs out of it (the first three, We Go High, Let's Go On the Run, Get a Bag, Zanies and Fools, maybe one or two more) but it's also very easily his weakest project. To be fair though Acid Rap is a special project to me that I don't foresee him ever topping now for my personal taste
Also, looks like I'm seeing the Jesus is King movie in theaters tomorrow. I hadn't planned on it but my friend had an extra ticket... we'll see how this is lol
I listened to some of the leak cell phone footage. The production sounds awesome. Hard to judge lyrically, but it feels like more of the same kind of flow he used on TLOP and ye. AAAA rhyme patterns can just be grating sometimes.
Looking forward to this. I’m friends with his pastor so this whole thing has been really surreal. Hope this album really is good.
The crowd chanted along to the chorus. The next track began with electronic arpeggiation, Daft Punk-style, and the crowd went wild, with one fan ripping out a fake plant and whirling it to the beat.Fucking lol Here’s Everything That Happened at Kanye’s L.A. Jesus Is King Event
Dude said he had a porn addiction at age 5????????? Also said all billboards are a form of sex trafficking.
My main takeaway from this interview so far is that Kanye West is going to start a cult. Very weird energy.
As we head into album release hype, just a reminder that this man: - supports and legitimises a white supremacist president - regularly supports and platforms sexual abusers - has a long history of unapologetic misogyny Listen to the album all you want, but be aware of what your support signals.
