I saw an actual real life billboard with We Got Love and the images on it today We Got Love (@wegotlove) • Instagram photos and videos
Ye sucked, but I’ll listen to this. Still love everything pre-Ye, even if I can no longer stand him personally.
The first half of the Letterman interview was interesting and the second half was a fucking dumpster fire.
I mean, I still find him fascinating even though ultimately I'm deeply frustrated and disappointed in who he's become. That's why I watched it. If you can somehow manage to stomach the bullshit, I suppose it's worth it, but I'm not sure I'd necessarily recommend it on principle.
First 40 minutes was great. Next 10 were hard to watch. Last 5 were good. It was a microcosm of Kanye’s career tbh. I too find him fascinating. He can be thoughtful and insightful and I find his openness to talk about his own experience with his mental health to be brave. The Trump stuff is maddening though. Insanely maddening. His pride is unbelievable.
If we're separating art from artist, sure he's put out some alright stuff recently. but nothing arguably "genius" since at least Yeezus. edit: there were a few glimpses on TLOP
KSG was mostly good cause of Cudi and also reading how Kanye didn't really do much of the production for all those albums other than choosing the samples kind of took away the "genius" aspect of that element. Still a good album but nowhere near Yeezus or anything before
I'll still listen to the records that helped me privately, but when it comes to genius production, I'm stanning Tyler now.
I listen to Pablo and Ye on the regular. Every release doesn’t have to be a confirmation or milestone of his genius. It’s just how he feels.
