Can’t say I won’t listen but it’ll take A LOT for me to actually enjoy it and I just don’t have enough confidence in Kanye to expect even a semblance of a mea culpa.

He's had some truly terrible features in the least couple years, I have a hard time believing anything he's doing vocally will be worthwhile.

nobody with any sense expects any sort of apology from him

that's kind of the whole point though, isn't it?

As a decade-long, recovering Kanye Stan, I am hopeful that it could be good because his output has reached heights that no other artist has ever reached. Having said that, he's done a lot to sully that reputation both publically and musically. Every great story involves redemption though, so I'm hoping he's able to deliver

IMO, you shouldn't have to listen to Kanye's music to get an apology from him. The most harmful stuff he's done wasn't in his music, it was in his interviews, live performances and tweets. I don't expect him to give an apology because he's rarely shown that kind of humility and introspection during the past decade. The man basically said the most harmful, offensive shit then switched to "I love Jesus!" and dipped.

But also if he apologizes solely in his music then it's cowardice because it's clear he doesn't want to get challenged on everything he's done and what work he's willing to do to make up for it. Seeing all the celebs and stans going crazy for this new album, I gotta say there's a zero percent chance of redemption because, as always, he's surrounded by people who will keep his ego inflated instead of keeping him accountable.

So which subject is gonna get the most cringeworthy line?

    His divorce?
    His presidential “campaign?”

The most cringeworthy lines will be from the people in here talking about the album like the last five years of this dude’s public/political life didn’t happen lol

ye was the last chance I gave him, and honestly he probably didn't even deserve that but it was one last shot and that album is just atrocious. And then going more into the MAGA stuff and everything else, yea I never listened to Jesus is King and won't listen to this. I'm sure I'll hear choice lyrics from people though

I don't think I'll listen to this. Maybe once out of morbid curiosity but there's just a lot of good music that has came out this year/is coming out from people who are not pieces of shit that I'd rather spend my time listening to.
