  4. Truly insane to think about his strengths as a producer and editor and all of the moving parts of an album like MBDTF, and then fast forward to him releasing an unfinished album featuring exclusively terrible people only on a $200 piece of hardware lol

The Kanye doc is really sad to watch because it just shows what a different person he used to be. I don’t know if anyone else on here can relate in this way, but I used to look up to Kanye because he’s from the south side of Chicago like me and it was really cool seeing someone from there make it big. He lived in the same neighborhood my dad grew up in (aka the house that is usually synonymous with Kanye growing up in Chicago), went to elementary school in my neighborhood, high school two towns over, and eventually lived on his own in my neighborhood for a while (obviously before I was born/when I was young) and like, there aren’t really many people from my area that make it big. It just sucks that he’s turned into the man he is now. He’s not someone inspiring to look up to anymore. It’s a bummer.

I watched it the other night and I was so amped on seeing how he started and what a genius mind he has. The fact someone followed him around with a camera and we are now getting this look into how it all started is amazing. I wish all my favorite bands/singers did this. And that amazing bond he had with Donda (his mom) was everything. Just makes me wish his Mom was still here to help him realize what he's currently doing, is not ok!

Yeah watching this documentary and he clearly wasn’t the giant piece of shit he is now. A lot of shit changed him.

  9. Trauma, mental illness, and an unimaginable amount of fame, money, and validation wound up being a recipe for coming undone, and unfortunately, very publicly at that. I still feel for his loss and some of his struggles, especially in the public eye (which is also why I unfortunately still find him fascinating as a figure in pop culture), but as @Snoblin pointed out, those humanizing elements melt away when he aligns himself with truly abhorrent people and seemingly refuses to take advantage of the resources that could help him get well. I don't like saying that without knowing what, exactly (if anything) he is doing to treat his mental health, and I absolutely understand how it feels to wrestle with medication while losing energy and creativity, but...there are a lot of medications out there. And a lot of ways to work on yourself that don't involve medication, too.

I'm sure only surrounding himself with yes-men and leeches and lashing out at people that genuinely call him on his shit or try to help him (like Cudi or Big Sean or John Legend) doesn't help either

I think he’s counting tonight’s listening party as “dropping the album”

I bet those stupid stem players will take weeks or even months to be delivered

  18. Yeah I mean we know it's not coming to streaming, at least not anytime soon, and there's no way anyone is getting their stem players for at least a month

It's a shame, the stem player concept and hardware actually looks really cool, especially considering it can be used with any song (not just Kanye tracks), but I'm not shelling out $200 for it

I just have no interest in tuning in after everything that has transpired. Such a shame that this is how things are these days with him.
