This is...a bit of an extreme comparison lol. But I get it. That quote I posted gave me much more faith in a non-biased vision, which I think really has the potential to be interesting. As much as I understand worrying about the perception others have of yourself, it's a little.more complicated when you're...well, one of the biggest artists in the world constantly doing shitty things.

 

It's supposed to premiere Sunday night at the Sundance (online) film festival.

I'm pretty sure this doc was already going to paint him in a (mostly) good light, he does need to just step back. I get his anxiety though, I can't imagine a 4 hour movie coming out about my life and not knowing what's in it

 

Lol I made an extreme comparison for a laugh. But being serious, what's the point of watching a documentary if the subject of said movie is controlling the narrative? It's like when the Straight Out of Compton movie came out, which Dr Dre was an executive producer on, and conveniently the movie skipped past the part where he beat the shit out of Dee Barnes.

 

Valid point but SooC was pretty awesome

 

I think the better example is what Queen did with Bohemian Rhapsody. That movie sucked.

Kanye is upset that people are going to see he's capable of feeling shame and embarrassment just like the rest of us.

"I want to control my image" might as well mean, "I don't want to appear human."

 

I mean... if you listen to his music, it doesn't really seem like he's afraid of that. Most of his music is extremely personal and vulnerable

 

that's still very controlled. I supposed you can also be public/vulnerable about some things and less so about others.

 

lol Kanye is far from the only pop star trying to control their image but ok
