Very very mediocre album. On par with Ye

I didn't hate Ye, but agree it was mediocre. I guess I'll give this a listen tomorrow.

Ye had 1 good song but was 10 tracks. This felt soooo long with soooo much filler. 3-4 solid beats, 1-2 good tracks from ye himself and a few good features. Not worth listening to, not interesting, no redemption arc here, folks

The song about Kim is the most interesting. Him saying since shes there she must love him…weird right? Idk how I feel about it but it made me feel for him more than anything since Only One

  11. ye was 7 tracks, which makes it even worse lmao even if I like more than one of them. I thought this was easily quite a bit more interesting than the last two records, but I'm not in the business of trying to redeem him whatsoever

Oh wow so ye is better than this? I guess? Idk neither are worth returning to in full. Its very funny to see people so hype about okay beats and unfinished half baked jesus verses, though

Haven't gone back to the recordings of the stream but I listened to most of it live and thought the production was good. I haven't listened to the post-Pablo pre-this stuff all that much given its lack of quality and how disappointing Kanye was around release time but my main impression of Ye and the gospel albums was how slight they felt in comparison to literally anything he had released before (or even the production albums from Wyoming). I'm not gonna go back and relisten to it right now to prove to myself I'm right but in my head I think about Daytona vs Ye and even 100% of vocals aside I don't think it's close, I'm probably beating a dead horse itt but Daytona sounds like he was trying and Ye just doesn't.

So for me I thought most of what I heard in the stream was a pretty big step up from Ye musically. There were a couple beats that wowed me and overall there's a lot of good stuff melodically speaking at least at face value. That said his rapping is still largely trash the way it's been since the weaker Pablo tracks and I think that's a fair reason to call the album bad.

Ye is a terrible album but I like the first track more than any of the others.

  15. I like the first track and "Ghost Town". The rest ranges from okay to bad.

I didn't hate Ye or KSG, but I also haven't gone back to them outside of the first week or so of release so I couldn't tell you what songs I liked or didn't like, tbh. The two Jesus records and the first version of Donda I didn't even make it all the way through.

Daytona is definitely the best thing he's done since Pablo.

I haven't listened to Donda 2.0 yet, but I hoping it's at least on par with Ye.

I need to revisit that. I gravitate more to music that sounds like Pusha than Teyana typically, but I do remember liking KTSE.

is there really much of a difference between Donda 1 and 2 or am I getting suckered into listening to this album again? Everyone is saying how much better 2 is, but I just started 2 and the first 2 songs were in the first version and both suck.

I think this 3rd song with Travis was in V1 too, but maybe he added drums or something. It's pretty bad too.

those two are the gems for sure. KSG isn't bad but it's not the masterpiece folks call it.
