Haha I feel like I can see Kanye slowly “discovering” the traditional album rollout. “Maybe we should release a single?”

 

It’s endlessly hilarious that he sets dates and doesn’t meet them. Just don’t set a date dude!

 

Part of me wonders if he has become a person who can only work under a deadline? Even if he doesn’t meet them. I know I operate like this sometimes. If it doesn’t need to get done I’ll never do it. Maybe it’s just a construct he creates to give him an least an ounce of motivation to work on something.

Kanye’s approach to an album release is the same approach I have to eating healthy.

I remember going from procrastinating writing papers being starting the afternoon before in high school, to starting at midnight by the end of college, to “my boss will have no idea I did this a day late” in work life and I imagine Kanye’s album finishing trajectory has been a lot like that

 

Oh he has no intention of meeting the deadline because there really is no deadline. But even a fake deadline that he has no intention of meeting might at least provide a spurt of motivation.

 

Nah this is just his gimmick I think. The dates he sets are entirely arbitrary.
