I do have a Hotelier take/anecdote:

I tried to listen to Home in the car once because I sort of liked it, but didn’t make it through the first song without my girlfriend forcing me to turn it off. She called it, and I quote, “grauenhaft”, a colorful German word that could maybe be translated to harrowing or gruesome, but like not in a good way.

 

Can’t argue that — their fans in general can be especially good at sticking their fingers in their ears and shamelessly carrying on haha. They absolutely deserve to be largely ignored by the entire community. If that by definition makes this the blink site, then yeah I’ve really got no alternate point to make

The reason I have a hard time seeing it that way — I bet like 10 people make up probably 40% of positive posts about Blink, which are for the most part posts contained to the band’s thread, which likely generates the most amount of “non community” posters on the whole site. Outside of that thread I see Blink as more criticized than praised, if acknowledged at all. Not saying the lack of accountability isn’t an issue, not trying to make anybody have the worst day at their job, but I just always think bottom lining this place as “the blink site” is reductive and really undermines the immense amount of value that dozens of posters (some with literally tens of thousands of posts) bring to the table on a variety of subjects every day that have nothing to do with the band Blink 182

 

I also have 2021 Hip Hop releases that probably deserve more attention than whatever Kanye is not releasing

There’s been a ton of wildly underrated stuff released in hip hop this year. Just not a lot that really has that “album” feel that gets rappers a lot of attention outside of just hip hop. I only barely discovered LORD JAH-MONTE OGBON released a second record in May, I might like it even more than the one from January and I loved that one

I personally wouldn't call any of it uninteresting. Check out Lucy's album from this year, it got a lot of praise on here and elsewhere so you may dig it and is definitely overall quite interesting.
