eh section 80 is pretty easily his worst studio album

 

gkmc easily the worst of those 4 but it's like an a-minus or whatever. never got why it isn't at least "good"

That was roughly when the big difference between mixtape and album mostly disappeared yeah, but I don’t think they called it his debut album, I think the one after that was marketed as his debut album

 

Yeah I really felt like the turn of the decade was when mixtapes felt more like full-fledged albums, rather than rappers going over different instrumentals

 

The best thing was when they called the Nipsey album from a few years ago his “debut” lol

It does still exist though, just not on that level.

 

Section 80 is listed as a studio album on Wikipedia. OD is listed as a mixtape.

Regardless, Section 80 is his best collection of songs and my personal favorite, but TPAB is objectively his best, most cohesive work. (Thought I don't think art is really objective)

But I dont think I've listened to Kendrick in 3 years probably.
