hey thanks, i just legitimately cannot be on a website where people go out of their way to make others feel shame over something that in the grand scheme of things does not fucking matter. (and no, you cannot convince me its a big deal that i chose to listen to the stream, sorry). just because i listened to the stream last night and dared to say it sounded good does not mean i have forgotten about any bad shit kanye has done or am giving him a pass, but people on this website are quick to jump down other's throats and deliberately make them feel one of the worst human emotions possible which is a massive trigger for me and that very thing happening on this website has brought me within inches of death! multiple times! so i should probably just avoid this place because that seems to be the prevailing culture surrounding these things

 

I get it dude, I've taken multiple breaks from this website over the years precisely because while I like a lot (if not most/all) people here, I don't want it to let me feel (negative things)! be safe

I agree that I don’t think people who listened to the stream/will listen to this album or those who “liked” the stream do not care about Kanye’s problematic past. We’re all real people here who have been navigating how to deal with an artist like Kanye for many years and I don’t think it’s fair or healthy to come down super hard on folks who choose to listen, which some users have constantly been doing in this thread.

As others have said, I appreciate reading your posts @sophos34 and I think most of us here (at least those who weren’t being hostile) do too.

 

Blocking people really did wonders for me in that regard

I think if you’re coming down super hard on people regarding accountability, not just in this thread but on this website in general (because this isn’t just an issue in this thread!), you should maybe take a step back and see how your posts are being taken by others. It’s not healthy/helpful if you’re advocating for accountability but making others (who also care about accountability too!) feel like shit in the process. It makes them feel worse and causes them to question staying a member of this website, and that’s not cool.

(Obviously this doesn’t apply to people purposefully not caring about accountability/trolling/etc.)

 

Over the past few weeks I've completely overhauled how and what I see online. In the hopes of not sounding like I'm on any kind of high horse, I would suggest that most people do the same.

My mental health is turning itself around in that regard at the very least.

I just want everyone to be a bit happier.

The people in that thread who were mad/not caring about Kanye/Kim/the kids are also the ones in this thread (and many other threads on this website!) going super hard and it sucks. I just wish people could be less hostile on this website and kinder/more understanding on here when there isn’t a need to be super harsh.
