I was out tonight so couldn't listen to anything from the listening party but the almost universal acclaim is making me pretty excited to hear it

 

He never walked back his support of Trump so I could not give a single fuck if his music might be good again. Terrible person and he doesn't deserve a pass.

this is pretty much where I stand but on the other hand he's cutting beats for Lil Nas X which makes everything so confusing.

 

Kanye did take back his support of Trump, but it was cause he hid in the bunker during the George Floyd protests, not for any of the real reasons to realize that supporting Trump is morally unjust. I personally don't feel any urge to listen to the album but I recognize that not listening isn't going to make Kanye realize how truly fucked up things he's been saying for the last 5-6 years are. Kanye is going to keep being Kanye for a long time for better or, more likely, worse, and that's going to generate discussion, there are so many features from so many interesting artists, some people who oppose everything about what he's been saying since TLOP are going to check the album out and honestly I can't bring myself to have a problem with that as long as people are engaging critically and keeping their listening experience attached to everything he's said and done.
