It's an okay album. My least favorite by Kacey by far, but I'm happy it gives her a reason to tour. On the other hand, the visual movie thing should be erased off the Earth.
I like the song, the brand tie in feels like a capitalist hellscape thing but at least it benefits farmers? Idk
Anyone interested in tickets to the DC show on 2/3? I have two general admissions I'd like to sell. This album just never grew on me the way that I hoped it would and I'm too old to go to shows on a weeknight unless I really love it...
also have a pair of tickets im selling for the Minneapolis date on the 19th, looking to just recoup face value for them. (it was like 100 or so after taxes)
show last night was hella dope, the set list was a good mixture of star-crossed/golden hour (I would say like 60-40), with a few oldies thrown in. The production was pretty great too 10/10
Looks awesome, I can't wait for tonight. Tempted to look at the setlist but I think I'm going to wait for the surprise for once
Since the new album came out, which never really clicked with me, I’ve been revisiting the pre-GH material a lot. The new album in comparison sure is dull. There’s so much personality in the lyrics and vocals on these older songs that I really wish carried over into the new stuff.
I’ve actually warmed up to the new one a ton after stepping away for a bit. Wish I was going to the Boston show but nervous about shows that large…
She’s coming to KC tomorrow and I would love to go because that’s a killer lineup, but the mixture of it being mostly Star Crossed and a pandemic is absolutely tearing through the Midwest makes this a skip. Sucks.
I have a ticket for tonight but I don't know if I am going to go. I didn't love this album, but King Princess and Muna on the lineup would be cool to see.
If anyone ends up giving up their MSG ticket on Feb 5, please lmk. My partner ended up not being able to go on a trip with me and I’d love to treat her if I could
The setlist for last night has "Killing Me Softly" by the Fugees in the cover slot and I'm very curious to know if it was the original or if it was actually the Fugees version.
couldnt agree more. the new album doesnt do much for me. it feels really impersonal, especially for an album that is based on such traumatic and personal events. oh well.
can't remember where I saw it, but a fan account that attended the first date of the tour recalled Kacey saying "Sorry this album is so sad. The next one will probably be a lot happier" so we shall see!
Anyone want tickets to the Philly show? I have two - my fiancée got COVID last week and we're being safe.
Star Crossed vinyl is $14 on Amazon right now. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09D8CFLXW/?tag=absolutepunk-20
